Do I actually have to put something here?

My name is Chris, I’m a 20-something year old student located in Ohio, United States. I started in the aquarium hobby about 5 years ago (I’m pretty sure I’m a newbie compared to most hobbyists out there). My dive into planted aquaria came about a year after I started, when I realized I could avoid that whole ‘cycling’ thing through the magic of plants. More time and money I care to admit later, I can look back on my first planted tank and realize, looking at the bright blue gravel and anacharis haphazardly placed, that I’ve come a long way.

It seems I’m constantly learning new things, and branching out in aquaria from just placing things in glass boxes. From the aquarium hobby, I’ve become more involved in the aquaria community, started venturing in the crazy world of photography (another money pit), rediscovered that writing isn’t horrible (partially thanks to this blog), and tried to improve my aquascaping skills to a level which wouldn’t result in me laughed out of most contests.

And now I’m ready to share some of my aquarium thoughts with the world (sorry, you don’t have a choice but to read).
